‘Really heartbreaking, really tragic’: Richmond neighbors react to deadly domestic shooting
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A community is reeling following a domestic incident that left a man and woman dead in Richmond's Southside.
According to the Richmond Police Department, officers were called to the 3700 block of Angela Drive for a report of a welfare check at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.
When officers arrived at the multi-family dwelling, they found a man and a woman down with gunshot wounds. Both died at the scene.
"We've all got our own battles going on, but -- I just hope that we can all, as a community, [can] get together and [lift] each other up through this," said neighbor Apollo Faelan.

Faelan lives right next door to where the man and woman lived. He told 8News that, on Monday, he'd been coming back from grocery shopping when he found a large police presence. The news of what happened shocked him, he said, as he had seen the woman days prior.
"I came home and [she] was sitting outside," Faelan said. "We said our hellos -- you know, our usual stuff. Nothing ... nothing seemed out of the ordinary."
Multiple neighbors told 8News the man and woman were mother and son. However, this has not been confirmed by authorities.
"It's really tragic and I just keep sitting here thinking ... wondering if there was a way that I could have helped, if there was something that I could have done, to have a different outcome," Faelan said.
Authorities said this incident is domestic-related and the investigation is ongoing. No further details are available as of the time of reporting.
