Renovated tennis, pickleball and basketball courts open at Legends Park in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The newly renovated tennis, pickleball and basketball courts at Legends Park in Petersburg have opened after the park was closed for improvements throughout the summer.

The reopening of the renovated courts was recognized with an event on Monday, Nov. 10, featuring Mayor Sam Parham, Vice Mayor Darrin Hill and other city leaders, as well as leaders from Petersburg City Public Schools. Petersburg High School's basketball team also tried out the new courts.

Improvements included renovated basketball and tennis courts, new pickleball courts, fencing and a paved parking area.

The city said many of Petersburg's sports legends grew up playing basketball and football at Legends Park.
