Richmond-area students to perform alongside VCU Health Orchestra in concert at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A group of Richmond-area students participating in Music Orchard Richmond programs will join the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health Orchestra to perform at their first annual Side-by-Side Concert in late May.
Music Orchard Richmond is a nonprofit that offers music education to K-12 students, which began as a pilot program in 2013 at William Fox Elementary in Richmond.
The performance featuring students in Music Orchard Richmond programs and the VCU Health Orchestra is open to the public and will be held for free at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, located at 823 Cathedral Place in Richmond.
The concert will feature students from Music Orchard Richmond's school residency program at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield County who will perform alongside members of the VCU Health Orchestra.
