Richmond businesses offering deals for marathon runners, race day reminders

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- As nearly 21,000 participants prepare to lace up for the Richmond Marathon on Saturday, Nov. 16, local businesses are stepping in to sweeten the weekend with exclusive discounts for runners. Trail Hut Gear Exchange, located on North 2nd Street, is giving a 20% discount on any item to full and half-marathon runners. Coffee lovers have options too. Reviresco Coffee on Lafayette Street will offer 20% off a drink on Saturday or Monday, Nov. 18, and Lift Coffee on West Broad Street is providing 10% off food and non-alcoholic drinks on Saturday. For post-run celebrations, Bar Solita is featuring a $7 shot-and-beer combo, while Casa del Barco will serve $1 margaritas at any of its locations. Events kick off bright and early Saturday morning, with the full marathon starting at 7 a.m., the half marathon at 7:15 a.m. and the 8k at 7:30 a.m. Participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Richmond Raceway’s Health and Fitness Expo from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A detailed list of road closures can be found here.
