Richmond Police searching for person of interest in connection to Coalter Street homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a person of interest identified in a May 18 homicide investigation.

According to a Thursday, June 5 release from police, detectives are looking for 38-year-old Adwin Zuri, of Charles City, in connection to a deadly shooting on Coalter Street in Richmond that resulted in the death of 43-year-old Terrence Smith.

Just before 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man -- later identified as Smith -- inside an apartment, on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Detectives with the Major Crimes division are investigating.
