Richmond Public Library to host workshop on starting a nonprofit
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Want to learn more about starting a nonprofit? Richmond Public Library will host a workshop on Friday where attendees can learn about different types of organizations and receive guidance on legal and tax information. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 at the meeting room in the North Avenue Branch Library, attendees will learn the basics of starting a nonprofit. Visitors will learn the difference between a charity and private foundation, as well as the distinctions between 501c3 and 501c4. Attendees will also learn about governance, legal status and reporting compliance for nonprofits in Virginia. The Law Librarian will also show folks how to access and use nonprofit governance, planning, and fundraising tools available at the library.
