Richmond Renaissance Faire to host Lunar New Year celebration

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Renaissance Faire is inviting locals to its Lunar New Year celebration on Tuesday afternoon.

The Richmond Renaissance Faire announced on its Instagram that the event will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.

"This year is all about new beginnings, so it only feels fitting to kick off the Year of the Fire Horse surrounded by our community," the post said.

The event will be held in collaboration with Black Heath Meadery, and will feature the first launch of a new mead, "G'Knight Moon," a blackberry mead with "notes of lavender, vanilla and a subtle smoky undertone derived from lapsang souchong tea," according to the post.

The G'Knight Moon will only be available leading up to the event during a tasting at the Black Health.

There will also be one other collaborative mead developed for the Richmond Ren Faire. However, information for the second collab will be announced during the Faire.

Admission for Tuesday's event is free and will also feature food and music.
