Richmond SPCA to host 24th annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from two special guests on Thursday to talk about the Richmond SPCA's 24th annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party happening next weekend.
8News anchor Madison Moore was joined by Dori McGuire, the director of communications for Richmond SPCA, alongside Bindi, a 4-and-a-half-year-old mixed breed pup in one of her favorite sun shirts.
"Bindi and her friends are all looking for homes, and we are raising money to help make that happen," McGuire said.
People can head to the Richmond SPCA, located at 2519 Hermitage Road, on Saturday, March 21, with events beginning at 10 a.m. and the block party happening from noon to 5 p.m.
The schedule of events is as follows:
- 5K at 10 a.m.
- Kids Fun Run at 11 a.m.
- Dog Jog at 11:30 a.m.
- Block Party from noon to 5 p.m.
- After Pawty from 5 to 9 p.m.
