RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond SPCA's 24th annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party on Saturday was paws-itively amazing for all who attended!

On Saturday, March 21, the Richmond SPCA's 24th annual Dog Jog, 5K and block party occurred at the Richmond SPCA, located at 2519 Hermitage Road.

"The goal for today is to raise $224,000 that goes towards taking care of all of the homeless pets in our care throughout the year," said Dori McGuire, Director of Communications for the Richmond SPCA. "All of that money is used towards the different programs that we have that help both pets and pet guardians in the community."

This free family-friendly event featured a DJ between the live music, food trucks, kids' fun zone and pet-friendly exploration area.

There are various ways to help the Richmond SPCA, such as purchasing raffle tickets, where participants could win prizes, including gift cards or a coffee maker.

The Richmond SPCA also needs donations, including dog and cat food and dog treats. As well as community members who are willing to foster animals from the shelter.
