Richmond to host e-cycling event with free Christmas tree drop-off

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Richmond will host an e-cycling event in mid-January where attendees can drop off Christmas trees and electronics for free or a fee.

The e-cycling event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1710 Robin Hood Road -- at the corner of North Arthur Ashe Boulevard & Robin Hood Road -- in Richmond.

The event is only open to Richmond residents, according to the city.

Items that will be accepted include the following -- some of which are free:

  • Christmas tree drop-off (free)
    • Remove all lights and deocrations
  • Paper document shredding (free)
    • Up to five boxes/bags
    • Remove all staples and binders
  • Electronics (various fees)
    • Visit here for the list of fees
    • Computer systems and accessories, monitors, cables and wires, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, VCRs, camcorders, stereos, TVs and all phones -- anything that uses electricity to operate
