Richmond’s Office of Minority Business to hold final ‘Pathways to Government Business’ workshop

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Richmond's Office of Minority Business (OMBD) will host a workshop dedicated to helping local businesses compete for government contracts and build long-term success in the public sector.

The event, "Understanding Government Contracting: Pathways to Government Business Success," will take place on Tuesday, October 28, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Richmond Public Library Branch Auditorium, per an Oct. 21 release.

According to an OMBD spokesperson, each of the sessions will focus on different key aspects of the government contracting process:

  • Introduction to the federal marketplace
  • Building a competitive edge: Proposals, bids and quotes
  • Strategic growth and government engagement 

The series started Tuesday, Oct. 14, and was followed by another session held Tuesday, Oct. 21.

According to a release, attendees will gain valuable insights into how to identify opportunities, prepare competitive bids, in addition to strengthen their ability to engage with government agencies.

Participation in the sessions is highly encouraged "to maximize the benefits of the training," officials said.
