Road closures released ahead of Ashland Holiday Parade

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Ashland Police Department has announced several road closures ahead of the Ashland Holiday Parade taking place this weekend.

The parade will run throughout Route 54 and Henry Street on Sunday, Nov. 23 starting at 2 p.m.

Streets associated with the parade route will begin to close at 11 a.m., which includes the following areas:

  • Route 54 from Medical Drive to Henry Street
  • Hanover Avenue between Lee Street and Duncan Street
  • Henry Street between Route 54 and Archie Canon Drive

There may be other streets connected to the parade route with limited access. Officials said all impacted roadways should be reopened by 6 p.m.

Those wishing to avoid delays are advised to use Ashcake Road as an alternate route.

Authorities said the entire length of Henry Street from England Street to Archie Cannon Drive will be closed to parked vehicles.

All vehicles must be moved off Henry Street by 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, as leaf removal will begin at 6 a.m. on Sunday -- towing will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
