Rock orchestra bringing ‘spellbinding’ twist on rock, metal hits to Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A rock orchestra is bringing its global tour to Richmond in late November, promising to light up the Altria Theater with "hauntingly beautiful" takes on iconic rock and metal hits.

The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight will put on a show at the Altria Theater at 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24. Its 14 classical musicians will play hits from bands like Metallica, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Linkin Park, AC/DC and more.

"Prepare for a spellbinding 90-minute spectacle that infuses iconic Rock & Metal anthems with a hauntingly beautiful energy," organizers said. "In ethereal candlelit settings, this band of 14 classical musicians unleash effortlessly enchanting melodies alongside powerful walls of distortion. Witness the unexpected union of Classical music and Metal."

Tickets can be purchased here. However, if you are sensitive to flashing lights or have a medical condition such as epilepsy, please note that this show utilizes some strobe lighting effects.
