School bus, truck crash near Liberty Middle School in Hanover County

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An investigation is underway after a crash involving a school bus and a truck occurred near Liberty Middle School in Hanover County on Thursday morning.

On the morning of Thursday, Sept. 18, a crash involving a school bus occurred on W. Patrick Henry Road near Liberty Middle School in Hanover County.

A spokesperson for the Hanover County Sheriff's Office said a preliminary investigation shows that the school bus was attempting to turn eastbound onto W. Patrick Henry Road from Liberty Middle School Road when it crashed with a pickup truck heading west on the road.

Deputies were reportedly on the scene shortly after the crash. Officials said no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Charges are pending based on the investigation, according to authorities.
