Search continues for missing Union High football coach
WISE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Authorities continue to search for a missing Southwest Virginia football coach who was last seen Thursday.
The Virginia State Police (VSP) confirmed to News Channel 11 on Monday that the agency was still seeking Travis Turner, 46, of Appalachia, who coaches football at Union High School in Wise County.
"Virginia State Police has utilized a number of assets, including search and rescue teams, drones and K9s, to assist in the search, and hopefully, locate Turner safely," a VSP spokesperson told News Channel 11 in an email.
VSP agents were reportedly sent to Turner's home in Wise County on Thursday, "as part of the early stages of an investigation," the agency reports. The VSP has repeatedly noted that agents were not going to Turner's home to arrest him.

State police learned while heading to Turner's Appalachia home that he was no longer there.
As of Monday morning, Turner still had not been found.
News Channel 11 sent multiple crews to Wise County on Monday, who saw some VSP and Wise County Sheriff's Office vehicles, but nothing resembling a command post or any large-scale search parties.
According to a VSP member, authorities focused their search on the area around Turner's home on Saturday with drones and police K-9 units.
Turner has been added to the VSP's missing persons database. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and glasses. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call VSP at 540-444-7788.
