Second annual fall pet fair returns to Henrico County
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Saturday marked the return of the second annual pet fair in Henrico County.
The event was held Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3400 Mountain Rd., and was catered towards Central Virginia's furry friends as a way for them to be included in the fall fair festivities.
"So it's fair season and I don't think dogs should be excluded in all the fun in the fall so we came up with the pet fair," said Marsha Rodgers.

Rodgers shared that all of the festivals games, activities and contests are geared towards dogs. "It's just a community event, if you like to interact with the community," said Rodgers.
She emphasized that she's seen more growth during this year's event compared to last year's
"As it progresses we kind of take off a little more, we get more and more interest and more and more acknowledgement, so it's definitely and annual thing it went so well last year that we made it again this year and we'll continue to do it yearly," said Rodgers.
Rodgers also works with Pet Memorial Parks, which is a pet cemetery located in Henrico County as an alternative for people who don't want to cremate their pets when that time comes. "This is just our opportunity to interact in a happy way with the community, because we don't get to do that very much," said Rodgers.
If you and your furball missed this year's festival Rodgers shared that next year's festival is already in the works.
