Section of Second Branch Road to close in Chesterfield for pipe replacement

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A section of Second Branch Road (Route 653) will close in Chesterfield at the beginning of August for a pipe replacement project.
The section of Second Branch Road (Route 653) near the intersection of River Road (Route 602) will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Wednesday, Aug. 6, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
While people will still have access to their property throughout the project, drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detours:
- Northbound Traffic -- Travel west on River Road (Route 602), north on Riverway Road (Route 659), east on Beach Road (Route 655), south on Second Branch Road (Route 653).
- Westbound Traffic -- Travel north on Second Branch Road (Route 653), west on Beach Road (Route 655), south on Riverway Road (Route 659), east on River Road (Route 602), north on Second Branch Road (Route 653).
