RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for some Richmond-area localities on Thursday afternoon.
The warning will be in effect until 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 in the following Central Virginia localities:
- City of Richmond
- Henrico County
- Hanover County
A severe thunderstorm warning means a severe thunderstorm was located in or near the impacted localities.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), these kinds of storms can cause damage to trees, vehicles and powerlines.
