Severe thunderstorm warning issued in several Central Virginia localities
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in several Central Virginia localities on Thursday.
The following localities are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19:
- Caroline County
- Essex County
- King and Queen County
- King William County
- Lancaster County
- Middlesex County
- New Kent County
- Northumberland County
- Richmond County
The following localities are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7 p.m. Thursday:
- Charles City County
- King and Queen County
- King William County
- Middlesex County
- New Kent County
A severe thunderstorm warning means that one or more severe storms have been located nearby or within the areas under said warning.

These storms bring high-speed wind gusts, which could cause damage to roofs, siding, trees and powerlines.
Much of Central Virginia is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. on Thursday -- meaning that severe thunderstorms are possible.
