Shooting near VCU campus in Richmond, public was asked to avoid area
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Police were at the scene of a shooting near Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus Wednesday night.
Just before 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, VCU Police sent out an alert about a shooting in the 600 block of Brook Road.
Police asked the public to avoid the area for some time.
At 11:12 p.m., VCU Police provided an update, saying that the situation was "resolved" and an arrest had been made.
No additional information, such as the circumstances of the shooting or how many victims may have been involved, is available as of the time of reporting.
