Sign up for Chesterfield’s Community Emergency Response Team class

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County's Emergency Management department is accepting registrations for its 75th Basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class that will take place in October.

The class provides emergency preparedness and response skills that can aid in helping family members, neighbors and other community members in times of crisis, per a Facebook post from the department.

Participants will learn about many emergency response skills, including but not limited to:

  • Disaster preparedness
  • Fire safety
  • Light search and rescue
  • Team organization
  • Disaster medical operations

The class will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9:30 p.m. starting on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and ending on Thursday, Nov. 6. They will take place at the Eanes-Pittman Public Safety Center, located at 6610 Public Safety Way.
