State police investigate deadly crash in King William County

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police are investigating a crash in King William County that left one person dead.

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 6:29 a.m., state police responded to a crash in the 1300 block of King William Road, Route 30.

According to police, a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Route 30 when it crossed the centerline and struck a Hyundai Tucson head on.

26-year-old Jean Rogers was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Police added that Rogers was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

The driver of the Tucson was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

This incident still remains under investigation.
