StormTracker 8: Cooler & Breezy Days Ahead

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - As expected, it has been another WARM October afternoon across the 8 News Viewing area, with temperatures rising into the lower 80s in multiple locations with breezy conditions from time to time ahead of our next storm system. Sunday night into Monday morning, will bring us a very mild overnight with temperatures only falling to around 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies and a slight breeze continuing overnight as well. There’s also a possibility of some mountain showers tonight, as the surface cold front approaches us from the northwest. Monday is Columbus Day, and I know some of you have the day off from school, while others do have school tomorrow. Monday will bring a cooler day as a surface cold frontal passage is on the way, as temperatures rise to around 70 degrees under partly sunny skies and breezy conditions from time to time. Tuesday will be a mostly cloudy day with cool afternoon temperatures around 60 degrees with some isolated PM rain showers possible and breezy conditions from time to time. Wednesday will be a partly sunny day with cool afternoon temperatures around 60 degrees with continued breezy conditions from time to time. Thursday will be another cool day with highs around 60 degrees under mostly sunny skies and less breezy conditions. Friday through early next work week calls for lots of sunshine each of these days and another warming trend. Finally, the tropics are not done just yet and we are watching a disturbance out in the Atlantic Basin that has a medium chance of becoming our next tropical depression later this week.
