Richmond Flying Squirrels announce 2026 home game schedule

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Flying Squirrels released their home game schedule for the 2026 baseball season, which is set to kick off at the new CarMax Park.
The Squirrels' will play 68 home games between April and September in 2026.
With the under-construction CarMax Park on track to be finished in February 2026, this new season will begin with the park's inaugural game on April 7, 2026.
“Our incredibly loyal and passionate fan base has waited 15 years for this moment,” said Flying Squirrels Managing Partner Lou DiBella in an Aug. 11 press release. “We can officially start the countdown to April 7, 2026, and our first game at CarMax Park. It will be a celebration like no other.”
The Squirrels' 2026 home game schedule is as follows:
- April 7 to 12: Flying Squirrels vs. Altoona Curve
- April 21 to 26: Flying Squirrels vs. Somerset Patriots
- May 5 to 10: Flying Squirrels vs. Akron RubberDucks
- May 19 to 24: Flying Squirrels vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies
- June 2 to 7: Flying Squirrels vs. Erie SeaWolves
- June 9 to 14: Flying Squirrels vs. Harrisburg Senators
- June 23 to 28: Flying Squirrels vs. Akron RubberDucks
- July 17 to 19: Flying Squirrels vs. Erie SeaWolves
- July 21 to 26: Flying Squirrels vs. Hartford Yard Goats
- Aug. 4 to 9: Flying Squirrels vs. Reading Fightin Phils
- Aug. 25 to 30: Flying Squirrels vs. Portland Sea Dogs
- Sept. 8 to 13: Flying Squirrels vs. Chesapeake Baysox
Notably, the Squirrels will be at an away game for the Fourth of July, marking only the second time in its history that the team has not spent Independence Day at home.
It's likely that the second-ever Star-Spangled Squirrels Fest will light up Richmond, instead -- though 2026 event details have not yet been announced.
