StormTracker 8: Dry start to Father’s Day before scattered storms after 1PM
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The unsettled weather continues across our area, but it won't be a washout today or any days for the work week ahead. The first day of summer on Friday will bring drier conditions to the area.
Mostly cloudy skies continue and it will be warm and humid with highs near 80°.
Scattered showers and storms look to develop by 1PM and continue through the evening hours. The main threats are heavy downpours which could lead to localized flooding and gusty winds, however all severe threats are possible.
A flood watch is in effect for counties south of US-460 until 2AM tomorrow morning. This is because we had most of heavy rains yesterday in this area. Remember turn around and don't drown.
Any showers and storms taper off tonight and overnight lows drop into the middle to upper 60s.
Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies are with us tomorrow with the risk of a few isolated showers and storms. Many of us look to stay dry tomorrow.
Rain chances increase for Tuesday with more scattered showers and storms moving in.
We really heat up as we head towards the middle of the week with highs near 90 on Wednesday and Thursday. When you add in the humidity on Wednesday and Thursday heat indices will be near 100°. The risk of a few hit or miss showers and storms is with us, but rain chances really will start to drop.
