StormTracker 8: Morning fog & a few showers; PM storms
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Unsettled weather continues for the beginning of our work week, but drier conditions are on the way. Mother's Day weekend is looking nice right now with a mixture of sun and clouds.
There is some dense fog across the region and a few spotty showers this morning. Any fog should burn off by mid morning and we will see some sunshine as we head towards lunch. Another round of scattered showers/t'storms will move in by early afternoon. Quick heavy downpours and damaging winds are the biggest threats. We also can't rule out small isolated hail. High temperatures today will be in the middle to upper 70s.
Any showers and storms will end tonight and our clouds will clear out. Overnight lows will drop to near 60°.
Drier conditions are with us tomorrow however we stay with the risk of a few spotty showers as this system that has brought us unsettled weather the last few days pushes offshore. Highs will be in the upper 70s under partly sunny skies.
It will be a beautiful day on Wednesday with mostly sunny to partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.
Our next system moves in for Thursday bringing back the risk of showers. Partly sunny skies will transition to mostly cloudy skies and showers look to move in for the afternoon and evening hours.
We could see a few lingering showers on Friday and it will be cooler with highs near 70.
Looking ahead to Mother's Day weekend we are looking dry right now with a mixture of sun and clouds. Highs on Saturday will be in the low to middle 70s. Highs on Mother's Day will be in the middle to upper 70s under partly sunny skies.
