StormTracker 8: Partly sunny with showers moving in tonight
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Today will be the better day out of the weekend with unsettled weather moving in tonight through midweek. An omega block will setup tomorrow which will bring us showers through Tuesday.
It is a mild start to the day and it will be a warm afternoon with highs in the middle 80s. It will also be breezy with winds gusting up to 25mph. We will see a mixture of sun and clouds and most of us look to stay dry for the daytime hours. The risk of a few showers and storms moves in this evening mainly west of I-95.
Rain chances increase as we head into the overnight hours. Scattered showers will be around and overnight lows will drop into the middle 60s. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but the threat is low as day time heating is lost.
Tomorrow looks to be the wetter day this weekend with the risk of scattered showers and storms throughout the day. We look to have a morning round and afternoon/evening round or rain and thunderstorms. A few breaks in the clouds are possible, but we will stay with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the middle to upper 70s.
This system will then become a cut-off low that will sit in the Ohio Valley the next few days keeping us in an unsettled weather pattern. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday look to be near 80 with mostly cloudy skies overhead. We will have the risk of showers both days until the low finally starts to fall apart by Wednesday.
Wednesday looks to be dry with partly sunny skies and highs near 80°. The risk of rain showers and storms moves back in by the end of the week.
Rain showers will once again be with us for Thursday and Friday with highs in the middle to upper 70s.
