StormTracker 8: Wonderful weather this week
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - One more warm day on Monday is in store for us across Central Virginia, with highs near 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Much cooler and much less humid air spills into the viewing area throughout Monday and beyond! We will see a few clouds this morning otherwise our skies will become mostly sunny today and it will be a pleasant day with highs in the upper 70s. Clear skies will be across the region tonight with lows 50 to 55. Tuesday will feature plenty of sunshine with highs in the lower 70s. Wednesday and Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies, and it will be very nice with highs around 70. Friday and Saturday will be sunny with highs in the upper 60s on Friday and lower 70s on Saturday. Partly sunny skies will be with us Sunday with highs near 75 and looking ahead to next Monday we will see highs in the lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. Tracking the tropics: Hurricane Milton is the big story in the tropics. Now a category 3 storm with winds of 120 mph and we expect this storm will strengthen rapidly today and in the next 24 hours become a category 4 storm with Winds of 145 mph. From that point on it will move toward the northeast and head toward the west coast of Florida and right now it looks like landfall is possible later Wednesday afternoon and evening between Sarasota and Tampa. This landfall area will fluctuate as we get closer to Wednesday due to the strengthening and then slight possible weakening for Milton which will cause some shifting in the overall track.
