StormTracker8: A few showers tonight & Tuesday then the sun returns

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – With Imelda heading out to sea we have some spectacular weather moving into Central Virginia beginning Wednesday and lasting through the weekend.

We will have a couple of showers across Central Virginia for this evening and tonight and that is from some moisture that is streaming up into Central Virginia from Imelda. Our overnight lows will fall into the middle 60s.

Tuesday will feature cloudy skies and there could be a couple of showers until the early afternoon and then we will be dry. It will be breezy with highs near 75.

Our skies will become mostly sunny for Wednesday, and it will be breezy and a touch cooler with highs in the lower 70s.

Thursday will be a beautiful day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s.

Looking ahead to Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will continue with sunny skies, and it will remain cool for this time of year with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.

As our attention turns to the beginning of next week we will see partly to mostly sunny skies for Monday and Tuesday with highs near 75.

Tracking the tropics:

Tropical storm Imelda has winds of 60 miles per hour and is moving to the north at 9 mph. We do expect that this storm will strengthen to a hurricane by tomorrow morning, but it will also make a hard turn out to see possibly impacting Bermuda.

Hurricane Humberto has winds of 140 mph and is moving to the north northwest at 13 mph. We expect this will continue for the next couple of days and then a hard hook will continue out to sea as Humberto begins to weaken.
