StormTracker8: Arctic air hangs around all weekend

Richmond, Va (WRIC) -- Arctic air swept into Central Virginia yesterday and we will be feeling that chill all weekend.

We have a cold and windy Saturday ahead of us. Highs will be in the mid 20s and wind gusts could reach anywhere from 30 to 40 miles per hour throughout the day, potentially even higher.

Sunny skies will be over head. Wind chills could feel like they are in the single digits and low teens throughout the day when the winds are taken into consideration.

The winds will begin to die down Saturday night into Sunday. Skies will be clear and temperatures will be cold near 10 degrees.

Sunday will start off partly sunny but clouds will increase come the afternoon and there is a chance for snow flurries later in the day. This is due to a weak weather system coming from the Ohio Valley.

It will be a cold day with highs near 30 to finish off the weekend. We'll be under partly sunny skies for the day on Monday with high temperatures in the upper 30s.

Tuesday will be a sunny day and temperatures will be closer to seasonable for this time of year with highs near 50.

The second half of the week is looking to be a bit gloomy. Another weather system will move into the region that could bring us rain showers late Wednesday through early Saturday morning. Highs will be in the upper 40s to near 50.
