StormTracker8: Cold & Windy Sunday; Arctic air lingers until Tuesday morning

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – A chance for some light snow and flurries is possible until 10:00am today. This system will clear out of the way and we will see clearing this afternoon.

Arctic air will be sweeping across the Commonwealth today. We reached our high temperature early this morning and will continue to cool the rest of the day.

Windy conditions will pick up this afternoon. Windchill temperatures throughout the day will be in the teens and drop into the single digits overnight. If you have to go outside today, dress warm!

That Arctic air will linger throughout the day Monday and highs will be in the low 30s. Come Tuesday the Arctic air will have moved out and temperatures will slightly warm into the low 40s.

Clouds increase on Wednesday and temperatures will be much more seasonable in the mid 50s. Mild temperatures will remain for the rest of the week staying in the 50s, nearing 60 on Thursday.

Our next best chance for rain will be late in the day Thursday where chances are looking to be scattered overnight and ending by Friday morning.

Dry conditions will be back to kick off our weekend on Friday and staying that way through Saturday. I am watching another system that will move through on Sunday bringing us rain for the first day of winter.
