StormTracker8: Decreasing clouds and cold tonight; a chilly Cyber Monday ahead

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – We will continue to see beneficial chilly scattered showers through 10:00 p.m. tonight on this Sunday night, in association with our latest weather system. We’re monitoring weather systems this week on Tuesday and then again at the end of this week, details below.

We had another cold start this morning on this Sunday morning, check out observed low temperatures.

Tonight’s forecast on Sunday night into Monday morning, calls for these chilly scattered showers to end around 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. or so, then decreasing clouds overnight and cold temperatures, dipping back down to around 30 degrees by Monday morning.

Tomorrow’s forecast on Monday to kick off the new work and school week, after the Thanksgiving week last week, will bring us a partly sunny day tomorrow and chilly temperatures, only rising to around 45 degrees.

Our next weather system quickly returns to the region late Monday night and continues for most of our Tuesday, bringing possibly a brief period of a wintry mix for western counties (Buckingham, Fluvanna, Louisa and Orange) to then an all-chilly rain event through Tuesday afternoon, with highs only rising into the lower to middle 40s. Some locations may pick up around 1 inch of rainfall during the Tuesday weather system, which would be great news for the overall drought situation.

Wednesday and Thursday will be dry weather days, with continued cool conditions.

I put the word watching for Friday, because our next weather system will be coming into the region, and possibly bring a wintry mix for some locations, but with it being many days out, it’s important to note that things will change between now and then, so continue to check back with us on air and online for updates.

Chilly rain showers continue Friday night into Saturday morning.

Finally next Sunday and next Monday, we will continue with the cool and dry conditions.
