StormTracker8: Great Friday; Rain/Snow Mix Possible Saturday

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- It's a cloudy and cool start to the second day of 2026, but this afternoon will be fairly nice. Skies will clear and we'll get mostly sunny skies for the afternoon, with highs near 50°.

Cloud cover will increase tonight and lows will be in the upper 20s.

Tomorrow we have a chance to see scattered showers, some of which could include snow or wintery mix. The rain chances will be reserved for those south of I-64 and the timing of the precipitation will be from 7am to 5pm. Total amounts will be extremely slim, near a trace to a quarter of an inch in isolated locations.

Saturday night lows will be back in the 20s. Sunday will be nice, with sunny skies and highs in the 40s.

Next week, we are tracking a warming trend. Average temperatures to begin the year are in the upper 40s, and we're tracking to be in the upper 50s by the middle of next week. I don't have any other rain chances on the table until one week from today.
