StormTracker8: Rain Chances Return
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – We've got another cool start to the day. Temperatures will rise very slowly, and not very much. Highs will be near 80 degrees this afternoon. Expect cloudy skies, and a stray shower or two can't be ruled out.
Better chances for isolated showers will be possible through the rest of the week. Clouds will hang around, and high temperatures will be kept to the low 80s. With the low rain chances, it will still be a decent week to spend time outside, just keep an umbrella nearby in case you get caught in a sprinkle.
This trend will continue into the weekend, and a rumble of thunder will be possible for Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will start to warm over the weekend, and we're expected to return to near normal, in the upper 80s, for the start of next week.
Tracking the tropics:
Tropical storm Dexter has Winds of 45 mph and it is moving to the northeast at 12 miles per hour. This storm is expected to slowly strengthen but continue to move out into the open Waters of the North Atlantic so this is absolutely no threat to land.
There is the potential that a tropical system or tropical wave could develop along the South Carolina and Georgia Coastline in the next 7 days and right now this has a low chance of developing. This is what I'm actively watching that could bring us the chance of rain for the upcoming weekend.
Farther out in the Atlantic just coming off the coast of Africa is another area of disturbed weather that could develop over the next 7 days into some sort of tropical system. Right now there is a medium chance of this area developing.
