StormTracker8: Severe Weather Threat Over; Very Hot Conditions Continue

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – After severe storms swept through the state Sunday afternoon, many lost power and saw downed trees. Some isolated locations received an estimated 2+ inches of rainfall! The severe weather threat for Central Virginia is over for the night, but rainfall is still possible through 2am.

The humidity and heat will continue for the next few days. We already had our heat advisory extended through Monday. We will likely see more heat advisories for Central Virginia through mid-week. "Feels Like" temperatures every day could reach up to 110°! Please stay hydrated and take breaks in the A/C if you plan to be outside working during the heat of the afternoon.

We are looking towards a cold front passing through the area on Thursday. This will bring scattered rain and storms for the end of the week, followed by the potential for amazing weather next weekend. Highs could fall to the mid-80s, and a drop in dewpoints is expected as well.
