StormTracker8: Sunny weekend with winter beginning Sunday
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Clear skies will be with us this evening but the main story is that those winds which have been strong all day will diminish as we go through the evening hours. We will have plenty of stars tonight and it will be a cold night with lows in the upper 20s across Metro Richmond which means many outline areas will be in the lower to middle 20's.
Saturday will be a sunny day but a cooler day with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. Winter begins at 10:03 Sunday morning and we will see mostly sunny skies for Sunday with eyes in the middle 50s.
Partly sunny skies will be with us for Monday but it will be a chilly day with highs in the middle 40s.
A weak weather system will approach the region on Tuesday providing clouds across Central Virginia with the risk of a few showers. Our high temperatures will remain in the upper 40s.
Christmas Eve will feature mostly cloudy skies with the risk of a passing shower, but it will be seasonably mild with highs near 55.
Christmas Day will feature a mixture of clouds and sunshine to mostly cloudy skies and there is still the chance of a quick passing shower. Our high temperatures will top out in the middle to upper 50s.
Looking ahead to next Friday and Saturday we will continue with mostly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 60s.
