StormTracker8: Very Cold Today; Slight Warming Midweek

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – It is extremely cold outside this morning. Wind chill values are in the single digits for many, with air temperatures in the teens. Please take caution and wear extra layers today. If you must be outside, limit your time and monitor your children and pets closely. We have a cold weather advisory in place until 9am.

Temperatures will not warm much today, as the arctic air sticks around. Highs will be in the mid 30s at best, with some of us sticking right near freezing for the high temperature. No chance for snow today, it will be dry and cold. Skies will be mostly sunny.

Overnight, we will drop into the teens and low 20s. It will be another very cold start to the day. Highs tomorrow will be warmer, in the low 40s. Skies will be sunny.

Wednesday will be the warmest day we have seen in awhile, with highs in the low 50s. Thursday will see highs in the 50s as well, and we're tracking our next weather system to bring us rain chances on Thursday night. With temperatures overnight staying in the low 40s, this is expected to be a rain only event, with no wintry precipitation. Our only other rain chances are looking to be very isolated next Sunday afternoon and evening.
