Sub Rosa hopes to reopen by late fall, though permit process for repairs has just begun
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Sub Rosa, the beloved bakery in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood hopes to reopen by November after a fire caused it to close. Despite these plans, the process to acquire permits for repairs is just beginning, according to the shop's co-owner.
According to Sub Rosa's co-owner, Evrim Dogu, the bake shop located at 620 N. 25th Street hopes to open in November, but many factors at play could potentially cause delays, including getting a building permit to begin roof repairs.
Dogu said that as of the beginning of March, the shop was finishing electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings. Afterward, he said Sub Rosa will submit for building permits.
"We've been told we could be on track to begin construction by the end of April," Dogu said.
This follows a fire that burned through the building back in November of last year.
