Suspect arrested after armed bank robbery in Chesterfield County
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A suspect has been arrested by police following an armed bank robbery that occurred in Chesterfield County on Friday.
According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, the suspect was identified as 36-year-old Leonard C. Parker, Jr. of Chesterfield, who was found in Richmond on Dec. 16 and arrested without incident with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Fugitive Task Force and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.
This comes after Chesterfield Police officers originally responded to the Truist Bank located at 1500 Koger Center Boulevard in Chesterfield County for a reported robbery at 9:14 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.
Police said a male suspect went into the bank with the strings on the hood of his hoodie pulled tight, covering his face.
He reportedly passed a note to the bank teller, demanded money and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officials said no injuries were reported.
Police continue to investigate the robbery.
