Tall grass at Libby Hill Park in Richmond being mowed after neighbors voiced concerns

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Grass that has been considered overgrown at Richmond’s Libby Hill Park is being mowed as of Thursday afternoon after 8News spoke with concerned neighbors.

8News previously reported that many areas of grass at Richmond’s Libby Hill Park appeared to be multiple feet high on Tuesday, July 22.

The grass was particularly high near a popular set of steps commonly used for exercise.

As of 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, the overgrown grass at Libby Hill Park is being mowed.

However, a spokesperson with the city has not yet shared when the grass maintenance will be completed.

Cutting of the tall grass had reportedly been delayed due to recent rainfall, per the city spokesperson.

However, this isn't the first time that Libby Hill Park has become overgrown in recent years.
