The Library of Virginia reveals new 5-year strategic framework to improve impact
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Library of Virginia has unveiled its new five-year strategic framework plan designed to boost the library's impact in Richmond and beyond.
The new framework is designed for 2025-2029 and includes four key objectives. According to a release from the library, the objectives are as follows:
- Become widely recognized as the leading source of information on Virginia's history history, government and people.
- Create experiences for Library of Virginia users that exceed their expectations, on-site and online.
- Strengthen civic education and engagement in Virginia.
- Support Virginians with the finest Public Library network in Virginia.
The objectives are designed to align with the Library's mission -- to acquire, preserve and promote access to unique collections of Virginia's history and culture and advance the development of library and records management services statewide, according to the release.
“This framework represents a collective effort of our staff, board members and other stakeholders — all committed to helping shape our future success," stated Dennis T. Clark 10th Librarian of Virginia. "We are reimagining how to best engage with our users, partners and communities across all of our touchpoints to ensure we meet their current and future needs."
