The Richmond Ballet to perform ‘Cinderella’ at Dominion Energy Center
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!" the Richmond Ballet is bringing the fairy tale of "Cinderella" to the Dominion Energy Center. The Richmond Ballet will perform Ben Stevenson’s 1970 production of "Cinderella" for the first time in Virginia. The performance will be at the Dominion Energy Center, from Feb.14 to Feb.16, with tickets starting at $25. Stevenson choreographed the production in 1970 for the Washington Ballet, and he is most known in Richmond for choreographing "Dracula" which sold out last season. According to the Richmond Ballet, Stevenson’s "Cinderella" is highly praised for its elegant choreography with dynamic storytelling. It follows the classic story kindhearted woman who lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters, and with the assistance of her Fairy Godmother, she eventually gets her happily ever after. The production has been performed by many well know ballet companies throughout the U.S. and other countries. The production is both beautiful and joyful, with so many moments of magic, elegance, and humor.
