Tony Award-winning musical ‘The Wiz’ to return to Richmond’s Altria Theater in April

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Tony Award-winning Best Musical "The Wiz" will return to Richmond's Altria Theater in April 2026.

According to an Oct. 22 release, "The Wiz" will come back to Richmond from Tuesday, April 21, through Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Altria Theater for its all-new North American Tour.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, and range from $53.10 to $115.70.

The ensemble features Maati Kheprimeni Angaza, Sai Anthony, Joseph Armon Boyd, Aliyah Caldwell, Robert Crenshaw and more.

"The Wiz" premiered on Broadway in 1975 and became an instant sensation, winning seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
