Tractor-trailer driver seriously hurt after crash on I-95 North in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A tractor-trailer driver is seriously hurt after he ran off of Interstate 95 North and struck multiple trees in Prince George County on Friday.

At about 4:18 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, troopers with Virginia State Police were called to the scene of a crash on I-95 northbound near Rowanty Road.

When they arrived, they found that a tractor-trailer had run off-road and crashed into multiple trees. The driver, who was stuck inside the vehicle, was seriously hurt.

No additional information is available as of the time of reporting.

As of 6:05 p.m., all northbound lanes and the southbound left lane are closed, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
