Tree falls into Henrico home during severe storms, causing significant damage

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A tree fell into a Henrico County home during Monday's severe storms, causing significant damage.

The evening of Monday, March 16, crews with the Henrico County Division of Fire were called to the 4200 block of Fayette Circle for report of a tree falling into a structure.

Fire officials told 8News that, as a result of severe storms in the area, a tree was knocked into a home.

One resident, a woman, was inside the home at the time. Thankfully, she was unhurt.

However, the tree caused significant damage to her home, meaning she has been displaced. She is currently being assisted by the Red Cross, per officials.

Spotters with the National Weather Service (NWS) have noted damage like this in other parts of the region. This includes multiple downed trees in Goochland, Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Essex and New Kent counties, as well as a blown transformer in Chesterfield County.
