Two 18-year-olds charged with attempted murder after Hanover FedEx parking lot shooting

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two 18-year-olds are facing attempted murder charges after a shooting that took place in a Hanover County FedEx parking lot in late November.

According to the Hanover County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a FedEx facility in the 10900 block of Air Park Road at 7:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25 for a reported shooting.

Officials said that three men and one woman were involved in an altercation, which then resulted in gunfire in the parking lot of the FedEx facility. All parties then fled the area. No injuries were reported.

Following an investigation, the sheriff's office arrested two men in connection with the incident. Deputies arrested 18-year-old Isaiah Derrell Murray on Dec. 2 and 18-year-old Lanser Lee Carter on Dec. 19.

Both individuals are facing the following charges:

  • Two felony counts of attempted murder
  • One misdemeanor count of reckless handling of a firearm
  • One felony count of shooting at an occupied vehicle
  • One felony count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
