Two crashes on I-64 East cause delays in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two crashes on Interstate 64 East are causing delays for drivers in Henrico County on Friday morning.

The right lane and shoulder are closed near Route 33 West, as well as Exit 186 to Laburnum Avenue and I-195, due to a tractor-trailer crash in the morning on Friday, Oct. 24, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

According to state police, the crash at Exit 187 took place at 8:07 a.m. on Friday. It involved a tractor-trailer that drove into the median, and it was hauling a large load of rocks.

Police say there are non-life-threatening injuries reported.

The other crash occurred at Exit 186 involving a motorcycle, and there were no reported injuries, according to officials.

"Extended, ongoing closures are anticipated," VDOT said.

Drivers are asked to seek alternative routes as first responders worked to clear the scene.
