When the first firefighters arrived, they found a small fire in a first-floor apartment that was largely extinguished by a sprinkler system.
While the damage was contained to one apartment and there were no injuries, fire officials confirmed later that afternoon that two people from that one apartment were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
