According to a spokesperson, the fire was cooking-related and contained to the kitchen. Two people have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

One of the displaced individuals was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

"Cooking is the number one cause of fires here in Chesterfield. Make sure you never leave food cooking on the stove unattended," fire officials wrote in a social post. "If any smoke or grease begins to boil, turn the burner off because fires often start when the heat is too high. Be sure to never leave flammable items, like oven mitts, near a heat source, and keep a pan lid or baking sheet nearby that you can use to help smother any small fire. If the fire starts to grow, get out of the house immediately and call 911."
