Two firefighters taken to hospital after responding to townhome unit fire in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two firefighters were transported to the hospital after responding to a fire at a townhome unit in Henrico County early Saturday morning, which left the home uninhabitable. At 3:23 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, units from the Henrico County Division of Fire were called to the 4900 block of Finnegan Court for the report of a fire. According to officials, the first units arrived on scene at 3:30 a.m. and found heavy fire coming from the first and second floors of the townhome unit. Firefighters then made entry into the home to distinguish the fire and search for any occupants in the building. The fire was marked under control at around 4:30 a.m. and no occupants were found in the building, however, officials said the townhome unit was significantly damaged by the fire and any person who was living in the home would be considered displaced. According to officials, two firefighters were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
